Kids’ Rooms: Decorating Tips
Make the Best Use of Space
Kids’ rooms are often smaller than an adult’s bedroom, so you might have to think carefully about the best way to save space. Older children may love bunk beds, desk beds, or cabin beds, as they will give them more floor space for playing. Small children and babies generally don’t need a large wardrobe, so stick to a chest of drawers and lots of shelves.
Organize Their Toys
If your child has lots of toys, you may want to invest in a storage system; ones with a wooden frame and large plastic buckets are often popular. These can look a little plain but can be upcycled with a coat of paint on the wood and stickers or labels on the plastic buckets.
Add Interest to the Walls
A good way to brighten up a kids’ room is with a feature wall covered in wallpaper; choose from pretty floral or bright and bold designs. If you want something a little easier and less permanent, try wall stickers or decals that can easily be removed when you fancy a change. Look out for glow-in-the-dark styles that will light up at nighttime with a soft glow.
